And so I say goodbye to my father, Robert Putnam, Sr., a gentleman accomplished in many endeavors, an adventurer and a scholar. He is still desperately missed by his five children and his wife Karla, who brought him joy he had never known before.
I am retired and living on the north shore of Lake Superior in Minnesota. Lake Superior is an ever changing experience, and for me this area of Minnesota feels grounded and I am Home.
Daily walks along the shore road with my dogs, collecting beach glass and agates, and making art occupy my time pleasureably.
I am still settling into my home, sorting and lessening my possessions, as a friend tells me, "Less is more". It seems true at this time in my life to have less, although it's taking a lot of time, as each discarded object demands my consideration of the attached memories. The memories remain, the objects mostly go where they need to go.
